Legal Executives Diversity Summit

Each year, WID convenes representatives from law firms of all sizes, lawyers from government law departments, and in-house counsel for a one-day summit. The goal of the summit is to inform attendees about varying topics regarding diversity within the legal profession. CLE credits are earned. Topics vary from implicit bias, to historical analysis of the development of barriers to diverse attorneys and law students, to developing an inclusive work environment.

The Legal Executive Diversity Summit is held annually in May.

Judicial Institute

The Judicial Institute is committed to the diversification of Washington’s courts. Our judicial system is strengthened when it reflects the richness and diversity of the communities and populations served throughout the State of Washington.  The bench is enriched, and decision-making is enhanced, by a variety of perspectives, life experiences, and professional paths.

Our purpose is to prepare qualified diverse attorneys for judicial positions through a comprehensive education and mentorship program. Through our efforts, we hope to make the path to the judiciary more accessible and increase the number of diverse attorneys seeking and securing judicial positions. In the past five years, at least a dozen Judicial Institute graduates have gone on to fill judicial roles within our state.

The Judicial Institute is held bi-annually in January.

Registration can be found here when open.
